The Shape of Ending Credits

Why the most forgettable part of a film is also the most honest.

The credits roll long after the audience has stopped caring. Names flicker upward, caught between gratitude and legality. Yet there is a strange tenderness in this appendix—every craft, every late night, every broken render distilled into a single column of light.

I have been collecting ending credits the way others collect opening titles. They are less showy, but they reveal more. The typeface chosen for the crawl says something about the production's appetite for risk. The rhythm of the scroll says something about its respect for time.

In an age of infinite content, the ending credit is a small act of discipline: a complete list, a full accounting, a quiet goodbye.
